Our Executive Team

Tony Atkins (CEO)

Tony attended Conestoga College and graduated from the Law and Security Administration (LASA) program in 1992. During his time at Conestoga, Tony was honoured with a faculty-sponsored award and was on the President’s Honour List. In 2005, the College honoured Tony with the Alumnus of Distinction award for his achievements.

After graduating from Conestoga College, Tony started a contract security firm with Gary Arthur in the Kitchener/Waterloo area and they successfully built the firm into a multi-million dollar company with over 300 employees.

Tony successfully completed the Professional Security Training Network (PSTN) and is a qualified security trainer. He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and a past Chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial Security (SWO Chpater). Tony has returned to Conestoga and teaches Security Supervision in the Law and Security Administration program.

Gary Arthur (Director Business Development)

Gary has over 25 years of experience in corporate sales and business development. As an executive, Gary builds strong client relationships and ensures the client’s needs are always being met. Gary helped build a contract security firm with Tony Atkins in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. The firm holds the distinction of maintaining relationships with many of their clients that have lasted over 15 years.

Gary has extensive experience coordinating security for large scale international trade shows. One such event is the CGTA (Canadian Gift and Tableware Association), which is the largest trade show in Canada. Gary has coordinated the security for this trade show for the past 10 years.

James Phillips (Certified Forensic Interviewer, Director Investigations)

James is currently a professor and coordinator of the Law and Security Program at Conestoga College. James teaches investigation and interviewing techniques, applied investigation techniques, and many other security / law enforcement related courses. James is the former coordinator of the Law Enforcement Certificate program as well as the Advanced Security Studies post graduate program.

James has an extensive background in various technical security, counter-intelligence and investigative disciplines. He has been involved investigations including: corporate espionage, fraud, theft, organized crime and anti-counterfeiting. James has worked for top 100 corporations as well as Provincial and Federal governments. James’s academic background is Psychology from Trent University and Athabasca University. He is a Certified Forensic Interviewer and proficient technical forensic examiner. James holds certificates in CPTED and Security Threat Group Analysis (Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services). James is a sought after guest speaker who has spoken at KSL Law Annual Anti-Counterfeiting Conference, Guelph-Humber University and appeared on CTV and Global television.
